2020 US Election

Last time I wrote about the US Election, it was about the 2016 US Presidential Election and it was focused more on the presidential election process. And it looks like I stopped writing / updating it on Oct 23rd. Wonder why I didn’t continue thru the end . . . .

Anyway, this time around I am writing, or at least I am starting to write, on the over all Election. I feel we have come to a point where we as individuals have to take some ownership in this whole political system. We have become so used to saying “it’s a broken system” without looking at what I can do about making this less broken.

Cloud Storage – Amazon S3 vs Google Cloud Storage

I find myself at an interesting crossroad – for the first time I am considering Web Services from someone other than Amazon AWS. To be fair, I do find myself at this position because for the first time I am the one making these technological choices as opposed to being handed choices that were already made.

I have always wanted to try other services and this is the perfect situation.

I am choosing to deploy my react app on GCP with Firebase and will try to use both S3 and Google Cloud Storage to be able to compare.

4 out of 10 people say they don’t have a single close friend who’s political views were different than their own

That is what I think I heard on the radio this morning. Which cannot be a good thing, I thought to myself. And then I reminded myself that I am one of the 6. I have a friend who’s political views are polar opposite of mine and I can honestly say that I consider him one of my very close friend.

But that brought up some other interesting thoughts.

    De surprise

After both sign an agreement with a company that offers to end their lives when they least expect it, a dejected millionaire and a disheartened young woman fall in love and have to find a way to get out of their binding contracts.

With a tag line like above, how was I supposed to start watching it. As I did, I realized that it was a foreign film and not the usual French or Italian or German or East European but Dutch. I don’t recall another Dutch movie that I have watched before.
