Wimbledon
Parents and Parenting
It was very interesting that the day started with this theme – I was listening to the “Morning Edition” on KUT and they were talking about “Selfish Reasons to Have More Kids” immediately followed by this story about a father and his daughter.
Being a parent / father of 2 wonderful daughter I cannot but help think of parenting in broad general term and my role in it specifically. I really wish parenting came with a sure fire manual. But it didn’t and now we are constantly learning and adapting.
More recently (January ’18) a friend of our’s shared an article that talks about screwing up a little bit and how that is not such a bad thing.

Democracy
Is NOT “Three wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner”. We know it instinctively that is NOT what it could possibly mean.
Though the concept of Democracy came from the idea of the “rule of the commoners”, we have to remember – over time we have allowed more and more participants to have a voice.

I don’t know, Which is Why I “Think”
We got on the topic of “Absolute Truth” and I was asked a most difficult question – if I believe, as I believe I do, in my religion and it’s teaching, how can I not believe in the “Absolute Truth”.

It’s Not Going to be Nearly as Good or Quite as Bad
It’ll, most likely, be better or worse. Better in the sense of not being as bad and worse in not as well. In our dreams and imaginations we tend to exaggerate. Reality is usually more realistic than our imagination.
It could also be that it’s way better than we could have ever wished or worse than our worst fears – that too is a possibility. But irrespective, what’s really important is that either way it will end and then there will be something else – to look forward to (hopefully in anticipation).
