Princess Bride, The

I saw The Princess Bride because the score was done by Mark Knopfler and I simply fell in love with it. I have lost count of how many times I’ve watched the movie – I just never tire of it.

I finally got the book (from half price) on Feb 20th ’12.

Kramer vs. Kramer

One of the few movies that I liked better than the book. Mostly because I had already watched the movie so many times before I ever read the book.

July 19th, ’14 – bought it on iTunes last week and watched it again.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Latte & Fahrenheit 451

When I first read Fahrenheit 451, the thing I found most interesting is the fact that this used to be a required reading for high schoolers. It might still be in some / certain school districts but doesn’t seem to be for most schools around me.

Next was the fact that it used to be banned here in the US.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne

This happens to be my second book on the Holocaust / 2nd World War. Fairly early on you have an idea how the book will end, but still as I was reading the ending I could NOT believe it was happening. I was totally engrossed in it like I haven’t with too many books.

The other thing about the book – unlike most other books, this makes me NOT want to watch the movie. At least not right now. Maybe later, much later.

After I finished reading the book, I knew I could never watch the movie.
