The Salt Lick – Round Rock, TX
- Location – North (Round Rock, TX)

The food is quite similar but the experience is not :o( Maybe it’s the fact that
- you don’t necessarily have to drive 40minutes to get there
- you don’t walk as wide a parking area
- you didn’t have to make sure to have “cash” on you
whatever it is, somehow the “experience” is somewhat less.

BBQ
My experience has been somewhat limited to Texas BBQ, but from what I can tell so far – Texas BBQ is the best (better than other American BBQ) ;~)
If we take BBQ from around the world, then it’s a whole different story.

I love the “Salt Lick”. The BBQ, to me, is not necessarily the best – but the whole experience is the best around central Texas.

Walton’s Fancy & Staple
- Location – Downtown (on 6th St bet’n Nueces & Rio Grande), across from Katz’s Deli
- Cuisine – Deli, Bakery
- Cost – $+
- Hours – M-F 7am – 8pm, Sat 8am – 8pm, Sun 9am – 5pm
- Rate – 7+
It’s a great place for some coffee and a pastry. It’s fine for lunch, but there are sooooo many other options in the area that I have not been able to try lunch there – yet.

Maggiano’s Little Italy

Went to Maggiano’s for the first time on Mother’s Day ’10. We saw the place open up a few weeks ago and had meant to come by sometime soon. But this was not a planned visit. We were at the Domain for some Frozen Yogurt @ Yogurt Planet around 5:30 and then decided to find out if they’d be able to take us in (considering that it was Mother’s Day and there were a small line, I expected that most people had reservations). There was about a 2 hour wait – luckily we didn’t want to start before 7:30 anyway ;~)
Putting our name down we went out again and walked around a bit. Came back just before 7:20 and they were able to sit us down.
It’s a realy nice place – with a very New York feel to it.
