We dipped below freezing sometime Thursday the 11th and have been hovering around mid 20s since. This morning, Sunday the 14th, it went down to 21F. We are anticipating going into the single digit later today / tonite. Looks like we might stay there, in the single digit, till tomorrow morning.
I guess the good news is that we are no longer looking at going all the way down to low single digit. 9F might be as low as we get. That would break all kinds of record for the last 30 years but maybe not all time.
Both RRISD and LISD have already announced that school will be starting 2 hour late tomorrow (Thursday). Interestingly enough, I don’t think there is supposed to be bad road condition.
The overnight lows dropped to the mid~low 20s and make it interesting – there has been just enough “rain” to make the roads bad. Some schools are on a 2 hr delay and others have totally closed for the day.
The temps went from being as high as 81F on Tuesday to 39F for the high on Friday. The overnight low of mid 20s caused a lot of the roads to be covered in sleet. Schools were initially going to be opening 2 hours later but eventually closed all together. Don’t believe any of the offices were actually closed but most allowed their employees to come in later or work from home.
Interestingly enough the weekend looks to be very nice with clear sky and highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.
Early part of next week looks to be pretty bad – again 😦 With highs in the 40s.
I took the following 2 pix the other day with my iPhone and dSLR.
The iPhone pix was the one I took first and liked it enough to want to take a better one with the SLR. Surprisingly, I had to take 3 shots to finally get this one – on the SLR.
It’s foggy, cloudy, cold – the perfect day for some soup.
Current temp – 38F @ 11:22am
If the Summer was warmer than usual, then the Winter has been much, much, m-u-c-h warmer than usual :o(
We’ve been having 80 degree weather for weeks and weeks. Haven’t had a hard freeze since before / around Thanx Giving.
