I came to Austin, TX in the Fall of ’89 to go to UT. And since then have called this home. Having lived here ~20 years, and counting, I have not lived anywhere else longer.

Went there for the first time last weekend (Sat Mar 16th) for dinner. We had:

  • Roast Chicken Biriyani
  • Mughlai Poratha
  • Daal Puri
  • Ruhu Fish
  • Jilabi
  • Golap Jamon
  • Kalo Jaam
  • Roshomalai

Everything was good, but the “Mughlai Poratha”, “Daal Puri” and “Golap Jamon” was specially good.

We got there just before 10pm (they close at 10) but we called as we were headed in. They stayed open for us and were very nice. The restaurant was very clean and spacious.

Next time I am in that area I’m definitely visiting them again.

BTW, I was so impressed with the food that I actually forgot to take pix 😦 The only pix I took were of the jilabi and Mughlai.

Lucy’s Fried Chicken

I’d rate it much higher – had it NOT been the fact that it’s as expensive as it is. Without going over board or anything, you’re easily spending $15~$20 / person.

Yes, the service is great as is the setting / environment (the fried chicken is really awesome). But I really can’t help feeling like I’ve been ripped off at $20 for 3 pieces of chicken, 2 deviled egg (deep fried) and a lemonade – that’s a bit too much. If I had spent $12~$14 (with tip) for the same – I’d be rating this place 8+ for sure.

I have been visting Precision for many, many years now (at the current / South location). The new location is supposed to be great (3x bigger), but I will miss the old location. It was yet one more excuse to go visit downtown / campus area. Now I’ll have one less excuse 😦
